Heaviest DT Single Round Presented by Warrior Massage & Mobility

Heavy Unbroken DT (1 round) – Presented by Warrior Massage & Mobility

Morning WOD:

Athletes will have 3 attempts in 12 minutes to establish the heaviest, unbroken single round of:

12 Deadlifts
9 Hang cleans
6 Shoulder to Overhead

WOD standards: Each athlete will have 12 minutes and 3 attempts to establish his/her heaviest unbroken round of DT. An attempt is considered an attempt once the barbell is above the knee for the first deadlift. During the attempt, the athlete may not take his/her hands off of the bar, nor may the bar be rested on the ground at any time. The deadlifts must be touch-n-go. The athlete may rest the bar in the hang position, in the rack position, or overhead. Tie-break for podium decision only will be determined by heaviest weight successfully lifted in previous attempts before achieving heaviest lift.

Deadlift standards: Bar begins on the ground. Athlete must pick the bar up fully extending their knees and hips with shoulders behind the bar. Bumpers must touch the ground in between each rep. Sumo-deadlifts are not permitted – hands must be outside of the legs. Athlete MUST complete the 12th deadlift, reaching full extension of the hips with his/her shoulders behind the bar, before lowering the bar to begin the hang clean movement.

Hang Clean standards: The movement will begin with the bar in a hanging position, approximately between the mid-thigh and knee. The athlete will then clean the bar into a front rack position. The athlete must show full extension of the hips & knees with elbows in front of the bar at the top of the movement.

When transitioning from the 12th deadlift into the 1st hang clean, there must be an obvious lowering, or change of direction, of the bar from the end position of the deadlift, into the start position of the hang clean. Cleans from the floor are not permitted.

Shoulder to Overhead standards: Athlete begins with the bar in the front rack position. The athlete may strict press, push press, push jerk, or split jerk the weight overhead with the bar stacked directly over the shoulders. At the top of the movement arms, hips, and knees must be fully extended and showing control of the weight. If the athlete chooses to split jerk they must return their feet underneath their hips to complete the rep.

*Athletes may start with the bar loaded.

*Before each attempt, athlete must confirm the weight on the bar with the judge.

*Any warm-up sets must be done in the designated warm up area. No warm up sets may be done in the WOD area. Please see above on what constitutes and attempt…please don’t waste an attempt!

*If an athlete is no-repped on a movement, he/she may re-do the rep correctly then continue the round as long as he/she hasn’t taken his/her hands off of the bar, or let the bar rest on the ground.
